The maiden Women Empowerment, Gender and Development (WEGAD) Stakeholders’ Forum dubbed WEGAD Forum is slated for Thursday the 20th of December, 2018 at the Stanbic Heights, Airport, Accra on the theme; Fostering effective collaboration among Women Empowerment, Gender and Development groups, associations, organizations and initiatives
WEGAD Forum is an annual conference established to bring together various players in the women empowerment, gender and development ecosystem in Ghana. It aims to facilitate dialogues on independent and collaborative efforts at empowering and developing women and promoting gender and development in Ghana in line with the fulfilment of SDG Goals 1, 5, 10 and 17.
WEGAD is a coalition of various stakeholders in the Women Empowerment, Gender & Development sectors in Ghana. The Agenda for the forum will be to discuss ways of working together, developing an annual calendar of activities and identifying synergies, setting up a common fund to aid the activities of the stakeholders and setting up the WEGAD Council & Secretariat.
